Scissortail Developers Buy Highway 112 Land for $1M
Developers of the upscale Scissortail neighborhood north of Cave Springs recently closed an additional real estate purchase in that area that caught our attention.
Hiway 112 Partners LLC, whose members include Bob David of Oklahoma and David Harris of Rogers, paid $1.09 million for 40 acres at the northwest intersection of Haxton Road and Arkansas Highway 112. James and Linda Simpson were the sellers.
The property is adjacent and to the east of the 147-acre Scissortail residential community, where ground was broken in September. David and business partner Julie Vaught of Fayetteville, through their Leadership Properties of NWA entity, are developing the neighborhood.
The Simpson site is at the future intersection where Highway 112 will connect with Southgate Road, which is being extended west from Rainbow Road roughly one mile away, just north of Shadow Valley Country Club. That project should be completed by the end of 2016.
David told Whispers he envisions the site as a mixed-use/retail development serving as a “buffer” between Scissortail and the Southgate/112 intersection
“We’re still probably a couple years away from developing the property, and don’t have any firm plans, but the Southgate extension is really going to open up Highway 112 when it’s completed,” David said.
