ZweigWhite Launches New Print/Online Industry Mag
Engineering and architecture consultant ZweigWhite of Fayetteville recently announced the combination of its two trade magazines, CE News and Structural Engineer, into a 64-page print/online publication titled Civil + Structural Engineer Magazine that will launch in April.
The move was necessitated by an urgent need to drive revenue through advertising, sponsorships and circulation, both in print and online. While other parts of the ZweigWhite enterprise have flourished in the recent past, the media side had not.
“Our goal is simple: Get 10,000 print subscribers who will pay us $100 per year for their subscriptions, plus many more paid electronic subscribers,” said CEO Mark C. Zweig. “Our old model of free distribution to a much larger audience, similar to other publications serving the same market, was not only economically unviable, but also not in the best interests of our advertisers.”
Bob Drake will serve as editor-in-chief, while Chad Clinehens and David Evans will serve as senior editors. The publication will have an all-new print and online presence and design. All current subscribers to the old publications will automatically be subscribed to Civil + Structural Engineer Magazine.
