Bunyard Broadcasting Pays $7.9M For Broadcast Towers in NWA, NEO
Jay Bunyard, owner of Bunyard Broadcasting Inc. of De Queen, has purchased 29 broadcast and communication towers across Northwest Arkansas and northeastern Oklahoma for $7.9 million.
Bunyard struck a deal to buy the properties — comprised of a little more than 80 acres at 16 different sites — with tower developer Clark Communications Inc. of Springdale, led by president Jerry C. Clark.
The acquisition, backed by BancorpSouth Bank of Tupelo, Miss., was made in the name of Arklahoma Broadcast & Communication Towers LLC.
All but two of the towers are in Arkansas, Bunyard said, and combined the towers have approximately 90 leased tenants, including Verizon, AT&T Wireless, various local television and radio stations and fire and police departments.
Chris Daniel, a technical consultant with BBI, will manage the day-to-day operations of the Arklahoma LLC.
BBI includes 22 radio stations across Arkansas, including Springdale-based Hog Sports Radio ESPN 99.5, KFMD-FM “Classic Hits 101.5,” “The Voice 105.3,” KCYT-FM “Coyote Country 96.7,” as well as KTHS AM-FM in Berryville.
