Local Utilities Receive Water/Wastewater Awards

The Northwest District of the Arkansas Water Works and Water Environmental Association announced at its meeting in December its annual awards for water and wastewater service excellence.

Joe Clark, water treatment operator at Tontitown Water Utilities, was named top water operator of 2013 for populations fewer than 5,000.

Randy Paris, water treatment operator at Beaver Water District, was named top operator of 2013 for populations more than 5,000. 

Terry Phillips, chief financial officer and acting director of Springdale Water Utilities, was named water manager of the year.

Joe Hall, wastewater operator at the City of Prairie Grove Water and Wastewater Utilities, was recognized as top wastewater operator for populations fewer than 5,000.

Tim Tinsley, wastewater operator at CH2M Hill in Fayetteville, was recognized as top wastewater operator for populations more than 5,000.

Jennifer Enos, director of the Springdale Treatment Plant, was named wastewater manager of the year. 

Brad Stewart, pretreatment program manager at Springdale Treatment Plant, was named the top wastewater pretreatment professional.

Bruce Richard, laboratory professional at CH2M Hill in Fayetteville, was named top laboratory wastewater professional.

Sylvan Shores SD Waterworks of Eureka Springs was given the top small water system award, and Green Forest Wastewater Department was given the top small wastewater system award.

The district includes utilities in seven counties. It was founded in 2005.
