A few issues back, we told our readers about Foxwood Sports of Fayetteville stepping into the high school schedule product void after the demise of Athletic World Advertising.

The seven-month old company, which already has deals with schools in 16 states, has just landed a major deal.

Foxwood has signed an exclusive, five-year contract with the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, the governing body for every high school across the country.

Foxwood will handle production and distribution of the NIAAA quarterly magazine that goes to every athletic director in the country (as well as ADs in two other countries who get the mag), and, more importantly, have a venue to present the benefits of its programs at NIAAA seminars.

Foxwood produces high school schedule products, with portions of the advertising proceeds going to benefit the schools, and was selected from several applicants. As the NIAAA exclusive partner, it’s endorsed as the first choice for schools seeking to utilize a schedule product program.

Foxwood president Tatum Owenby said the selection criteria was based on products, innovation, creativity, customer service, financial stability and integrity.

“It says a lot about what we’ve done already,” he said. “This is the biggest platform a company could sit on.”

Owenby said the company has 30 employees now, and that number could double by year-end with the addition of more creative positions and sales staff.

Of course Foxwood has its competition in Fayetteville’s Game On, a company created by the former president of AWA and that purchased most of AWA’s assets and still operates in the old offices. But as we all know, competition is good for business.
