A desire to capitalize on the unique clustering of homegrown and multi-national corporations in Northwest Arkansas has inspired three partners to create a national leadership organization based in Bentonville.

Coleman Peterson of Hollis Enterprises, Mel Redman of Redman and Associates and Steve McPheeters of McPheeters Group in Columbia, Mo., have formed the Bentonville Leadership Network.

They will host their first seminar March 10-12 at the Doubletree Hotel in Bentonville.

Both Peterson and Redman are former Wal-Mart executives and McPheeters most recently worked 10 years for Noranda Aluminum creating a leadership development program still in effect today.

The goal of the BLN is to create a nationwide organization of top leaders to share best people and business practices and take advantage of Wal-Mart’s drawing power to Northwest Arkansas.

“We are creating a top level leadership group, basing it in Bentonville but attracting people from throughout the U.S.,” Redman said. “We expect the leadership network will generate exciting new ideas and practices and we plan to present several dynamic presentations during the course of our scheduled seminars.”

The number of seats for the seminar is capped at 25, and a second seminar is tentatively scheduled for sometime in June. Membership in the BLN is $5,000 per year and includes seminars, access to other leaders in the network and the company’s private intranet that will provide new resources and communication links to other members.

Application information and seminar schedule is available on the BLN Web site.
