Business Broker Buys Available

Every once in awhile we like to tell Whispers readers what types of businesses are up for sale. The usual fare includes doughnut shops, dry cleaners, motels in Eureka Springs and the odd restaurant/pub combo near Fayetteville’s Dickson Street.

But it looks like a diverse group of business owners are thinking they would like to sell out.

Recent listings at BusinessBroker.net included a baby boutique for $270,000; an airport shuttle service for $498,000; a certified public accounting practice for $110,000; and a “construction and development company, with real estate” for an undisclosed amount. The construction company claims $5.5 million in annual revenue and $622,609 in annual cash flow. It lists 10 employees and opened its doors in 1996.

We’re not sure, but our gut feeling is there’s a bargain to be had.

We feel for all these small business owners, whether they’ve decided to get out because the economy is rough or if it was part of their retirement strategy. We wish them all the best of luck.
