Malco Movie Madness Delayed

The daily rain soaking Northwest Arkansas throughout May and June set back the completion schedule of the new Malco 12-screen theater in Fayetteville.

Back in April, an Aug. 1 opening seemed possible. Malco’s Web site now says “Fall 2007.” We hear Malco wanted to open by Sept. 28, but the finishing touches could take a couple weeks to a month longer.

VEI General Contractors Inc. of Russellville, which built the 12-screen Malco Towne Center in Rogers, is also constructing the Fayetteville theater. The Fayetteville Razorback, as it is called on the Malco site, will be the largest in Northwest Arkansas at 45,976 SF to surpass the newly opened Malco Pinnacle Hills 12 in Rogers.
