KHBS+ Takes Market Lead
KHBS+ has taken command of the Northwest Arkansas market in the latest ratings released by Nielsen Media Research for February.
The ABC affiliate gained nearly three points from the November ratings in the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. timeslots in Benton, Madison and Washington counties, extending its lead in the two early timeslots and taking the lead at 10.
CBS-affiliate KFSM remains the leader in the designated market area, which includes nine counties in Arkansas and two in Oklahoma, but KHBS+ has narrowed the margin considerably.
KFSM gained market share in all three timeslots, but KHBS+ doubled and nearly tripled its share in the DMA since November.
KFSM went from 12.1, 13 and 11.2 to 13.9, 14.7 and 12.5, respectively, in the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. rankings.
NBC-affiliate KNWA, which led the November ratings for the 10 p.m. newscast in the three-county market, gained nearly a point in that slot from 8 to 8.8 but still fell behind KHBS+.
