Speaking of The Barber Group, we’ve been getting a lot of different reports about the company’s planned $100 million, 22-story Westin Hotel/condo project in Rogers announced July 31.
The scuttlebutt has been that there’s a problem with the project or that Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. of White Plains, N.Y., has pulled out of the deal.
But it’s not so, said Barber. “Actually it’s going full-speed ahead,” he said.
The company is looking at an option of putting the building across the road on its development called Forty-fifth, and that’s where the buzz started, he thinks.
At last count, the group had six major commercial projects in various stages.
The price tag? About $790 million.
