Tim Singleton is in his car for more than two hours every day driving to and from work.
A Van Buren employee by day and Bentonville resident by night, Singleton enjoys providing for his family. He also has a goal in mind. “I don’t want this facility to be the best at Simmons; I want it to be the best in the industry.”
Singleton spent a total of eight years pulling duty in the U.S. Army and Arkansas National Guard in his younger days. “It was a very good experience,” he said. “It definitely helped mold my work ethic.”
A 1998 graduate of Arkansas Tech, he started work as a production supervisor at Tyson Foods’ Clarksville plant in April 2001. Next came successful stints in Green Forrest, Berryville — even Mexico.
Singleton — who enjoys hunting, fishing and playing golf in his down time — began with Simmons Foods in March 2008. Today Singleton is responsible for operations and strategic planning at its Van Buren facility.
Singleton hopes to continue his steady rise within the industry while meeting his own high expectations (“I don’t like to lose”) and finding a work/life balance that benefits his company as well as his family.
“My industry is fast-paced,” Singleton said. “It’s focusing on what’s important, focusing on value and bringing that value back to the company and yourself.”
