Hot Johnson ?Knights?
Virgil Knight, owner of Knight Construction Inc. of Fayetteville, was the first home builder to break ground at the new 450-acre Clear Creek Golf Club in Johnson. And he did it for a $750,000 “spec” home that features an 800-SF deck and a killer view of the first fairway.
The two-story speculative house is a 4,400-SF country French design on 0.75 acres. It has granite countertops, hardwood floors, custom maple-stain cabinets, stainless steel appliances, two fireplaces and an 800-SF master bedroom/bath/walk-in closet suite.
Knight said painting could begin this month if buyers wanted to pick out their own colors for the house. But don’t think he’s being presumptive.
There are 48 lots in Clear Creek’s Phase I and 46 in Phase II. Although they go from $109,000 (0.45 acres) to $450,000 and up (3.41 acres), the sale of 25 of those lots had closed by mid July and 16 more were expected to sell by the end of August.
There’s also seven lots being reserved in Clear Creek Phase III although they’re not even yet available for sale.
Knight’s not new to upscale homes. He’s building another at Clear Creek and just finished a 7,200-SF custom residence on 12 acres off Ivy Lane in Springdale, although he won’t say for whom that doorbell tolls.
