Triad Hospitals Sees Income Increase to $32.6 Million

The owner of Northwest Health System of Springdale, Triad Hospitals Inc., reported that its net income for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, jumped to $32.6 million. That’s after $3.6 million in after-tax revenue came from a favorable litigation settlement.

In a press release announcing the earnings, the company credited the income jump to acquisitions, higher fees and a greater number of admissions.

Northwest operates Northwest Medical Center Center of Benton County in Bentonville and Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale. In July, the company bought the assets and 60 percent of the operating interest in the Willow Creek Women’s Hospital in Johnson. Dallas-based Triad also opened a new 112-bed hospital in Las Cruces, N.M., in August.

Triad’s reported earnings per share of 43 cents for the third quarter. It had $894 million in revenue, $133.5 million in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization and certain other charges (EBITDA); $114.9 million in cash flow after cash interest and tax and $77 million in capital expenditures.
