Artist Nini Hill says a unique work of art reflects individuality more so than a mass-produced work. With this in mind, it is obvious why she and friend, Anita LeFlett, collaborated late last year to create Artful Spaces.
Under the ownership of LeFlett, a nationally recognized decorator with more than 20 years of experience, Artful Spaces features original art with a home furnishings flair. In an attempt to make art a part of everyday life, LeFlett has captured the talents of a dozen local artists, such as her husband, painter Dan Kerlin, who is famous for his local scenes, John Shader, Susan Edgeman and Anita Hejtmanek. In fact, Hejtmanek’s stained glass accent lamps are featured in the new edition of Southern Living.
Among the items available at Artful Spaces are prints, watercolors, oil paintings, metal arts, hand-painted glass, pottery, throw pillows and lamps. In addition to this, LeFlett offers interior consulting and decorating, and Hill specializes in one-of-a-kind recycled hand-painted furniture. She also refurbishes family heirlooms and furniture found in flea markets.
