Rogers Cardiologist Moves Eastward

Dr. Ron E. Revard, a well-known cardiologist in Benton County, has moved his practice to Harrison. Revard, who practiced at Mercy Health Center in Bentonville in recent years, said he wanted to join his friend, Dr. Bill Mears at his practice, Harrison Cardiology Clinic.

“I knew Bill had been here for five years by himself and he had been trying to get me to move over about four of those,” Revard said of his new partner.

The move means Revard’s favorite fishing spot is nearer. “I like to fish the White River,” he said.

Northwest Arkansas’ health care industry has changed considerably as managed care has become more prevalent. That’s been especially true in Benton County, where Mercy Health System of Northwest Arkansas has purchased a number of physician practices, including Revard’s.

But Revard told a reporter that’s not why he moved.

“Medicine’s completely changed from what it was 20 years ago. There’s always going to be change,” he said. “There’s managed care here [in Harrison]. I’m afraid that’s just part of the landscape.”
