Fazoli’s Opens In Rogers
Geoffrey Brown opened a 3,243-SF Fazoli’s Italian Restaurant on July 15 at 1735 W. Walnut St. in Rogers. The site is the former home of a Back Yard Burgers restaurant. That building was torn down to make way for the Fazoli’s.
The National Restaurant Association rated Fazoli’s as the “hottest concept of 1999.” Sales for the chain jumped by 121 percent between 1996 and 1997 for a total of $265 million in systemwide sales in 1997.
Fazoli’s, based in Lexington, Ken., has more than 330 restaurants in 28 states. In Arkansas, the chain has locations in Little Rock, Conway, Jonesboro and Rogers.
Fazoli’s has counter, carry-out and drive-through service along with 12 entrees priced at less than $4 each. The restaurants specialize in Italian dishes, submarine sandwiches, pizzas, soups, salads and lemon ice (in summer).
The first Fazoli’s opened in 1988. The company was purchased in 1990 by Seed Restaurant Group.
