Preserving memories on paper, scrapbook fanatics in Northwest Arkansas now have a new source for their hobby supplies. Scrapbook Friendzy and Fine Gifts sells anything related to scrapbooking, as well as rubber stamps, dolls, women’s accessories and collectible gifts.

“I make certain [customers] have got everything to [scrapbook],” co-owner Gale Potter said.

Classes are also available to teach people how to make their own greeting cards, use scrapbook supplies and work with rubber stamps.

“I feel like I have failed if someone leaves here without finding what they came for,” Potter said.

Potter and her husband, Kenny, ran a similar store in Neosho, Mo., before deciding to expand into this area. The 4,000-SF Rogers location is the first of two planned sites for Scrapbook Friendzy, and the Potters said they wanted to open a 6,000-SF location in Fayetteville soon.

Opening the Rogers store cost about $200,000, and Gale Potter said that the store’s space already seems too small and that expansion of the site is likely.

Nine staff members, all family members, help run the stores. Potter said they use some of the store profits to help pay for high family medical bills.
