Packnett to leave Rogers

Michael J. Packnett, president and CEO of Mercy Health System of Northwest Arkansas and St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers since 1995, is leaving for another post with Sisters of Mercy. On Feb. 1, Packnett will become president and CEO of Mercy Health System Oklahoma and Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.
His Arkansas replacement will be Susan Barrett, who is currently president and CEO of Mercy Health System of Kansas where she oversees hospitals in Fort Scott and Independence as well as a physician practice organization.
Packnett moved to Northwest Arkansas from St. Louis, where he was vice president of operations at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. In 1998, he was named administrator of the year by the Arkansas Auxiliary Hospital Association. In addition, Packnett serves on the board of First National Bank of Rogers.
Barrett has been with Mercy Hospitals of Kansas since 1991 and assumed her current position there in 1996.
