By Feb. 12, Triangle Co. plans to close its store in Fayetteville’s Oak Plaza Shopping Center, at 1216 N. Garland Ave. In the 1960s, the store — then a Ben Franklin’s — was one of the first stores owned by Sam Walton, who later founded the Wal-Mart Stores Inc. empire.

Triangle sells art supplies and equipment for architectural drafting. The company, which is based in Tulsa, also has stores in Tulsa and Fort Smith.

Daniel Coston, manager of the Fayetteville store, says stock is being liquidated at discount prices before the store closes.
