From Cow Yard to Courtyard

There’s a new hotel in the offing for Springdale – and, not surprisingly, it’s planned for 48th Street, currently one of the hottest spots in the city near the intersection of U.S. Highways 71 and 412.

Plans for a 90-room Courtyard by Marriott were recently submitted to Springdale city officials. As proposed, the hotel will be three stories high and contain 49,300 SF of space – similar to the Courtyard by Marriott that’s already in Bentonville.

Forty-eighth Street has become a center of hotels and restaurants. The hotel is planned for a 4.1-acre site, just south of the Marketplace Grill, which is south of the Hampton Inn & Suites and the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center.

The hotel plans were submitted by Long & Cox Properties Inc. of Atlanta and Engineering Design Associates. Technical plat review for the plans is scheduled for June 17. The city’s planning commission will take up the proposal on July 6.
