First Security Bank, the Searcy-based bank that expects to open its new 14,000-SF building in Fayetteville in early June, is planning to build a similar facility in Rogers.

Jim Taylor, vice president for the bank, says the Rogers branch will be the third time First Security has used the same branch design. The design was used first in Camden and then in Fayetteville. The two-story building’s “footprint” is 7,000-SF but includes atrium space that isn’t available for offices.

Taylor says the bank has gotten city approval for the branch planned for 3901 W. Walnut St., in Rogers, but regulatory approval is still pending. Located just three blocks from U.S. Highway 71, the new branch is expected to open within a year. The bank may open earlier in a temporary location although that hasn’t been finalized, Taylor says.
