Work is to begin soon on a Consumers Thriftway supermarket in Fayetteville on Wedington Drive near the intersection with Interstate 540. The 42,000-SF store is being built by Marvin’s IGA and will include 46,000 feet of additional shopping space.

Clary Development Corp. in Little Rock sold 4.6 acres of land just west of the Holiday Inn Express to Consumers Thriftway in October for $625,000. Clary still plans to develop an apartment complex on adjoining property.

Dandy Oil and Griffin-Mardis Investments Inc. have purchased two acres nearby from Clary for $485,000.

Work is already under way there on an Exxon convenience store that will contain a McDonald’s restaurant.
