Springdale to Get New Retail Building
Phillip Taldo and Gary Griffin of One Springdale Inc. on Aug. 8 got a loan of $874,000 from Springdale Bank & Trust to begin construction on a retail office building in Springdale.
Market Square, located near the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market on Gutensohn Road, will be a single-level, 14,000-SF building. Construction has just begun on the project. Neal Hefner is the contractor and Miller, Boskus and Lack are the architects.
The target date for completion is Dec. 1.
Taldo and Griffin are also planning to start development soon on Willow Bend Estates just south of the Timber Ridge subdivision in Springdale.
The upscale subdivision will have a minimum requirement of 3,000 SF for homes. There will be 55 building lots at Willow Bend.
Construction will begin Oct. 1 with Feb. 1 set as a target date for completion. A contractor has yet to be selected.
Bank of Fayetteville
branch will expand
The Dickson Street branch location of The Bank of Fayetteville will be expanding with a restoration of a 500-SF brick structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The total cost of the expansion will be about $361,000.
Known as the “train bank,” the Dickson Street branch is The Bank of Fayetteville’s second most popular location, handling 26 percent of all transactions. It opened in 1990.
The building to be renovated will eventually house three tellers who will operate four drive-through lanes.
Architects at Polk, Stanley & Associates are attempting to rebuild the structure, originally built in 1913, to its original plans. It once housed Price Waters Oil Co.
