Skinner named chairman of American Dental Association annual session
Fort Smith dentist Dr. Robert L. Skinner, was elected chairman of the American Dental Association’s 2009 annual session which will takes place in Honolulu and is expected to be attended by 32,000 dentists, dental staff and guests. Skinner was elected to this national position by the members of the ADA’s Council on Annual Sessions (CAS), and is in his fourth and last year on the council.
On the state level, Skinner was the recipient of the Arkansas State Dental Association’s Distinguished Service Award during the association’s 122nd Annual Scientific Session held recently in Hot Springs. The Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to an Arkansas dentist who has unselfishly served the best interests of dentistry and the public, and has proven his/her commitment to all levels of organized dentistry in an ethical and moral fashion.
Skinner, who began his dental practice in Fort Smith in 1986 after graduating from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, has served as president of the Arkansas State Dental Association, the Northwest Dental District Society and the Fort Smith Dental Association.
