Arkansas Poll: Economy Is Top Issue For State Residents

More than 2 out of 3 Arkansans cited concerns about the economy as the No. 1 issue facing the state in the latest Arkansas Poll led by the University of Arkansas political science department.

The poll surveyed 800 Arkansans and was conducted by Eastern Research Services between Oct. 14 and Oct. 19. It has a margin of error of +/-3.5%.

Notable highlights from the Arkansas Poll include:

  • 70% of likely voters said the economy was their top concern.
  • Gov. Mike Beebe’s (D) job approval rating was 74% among likely voters.
  • Pres. Barack Obama’s (D) job approval rating was 31% among likely voters.
  • U.S. Senators Mark Pryor (D) and John Boozman (R) had a 48% and 44% job approval rating, respectively.
