Fort Smith-based Boyd Metals expands in Little Rock
Fort Smith-based Boyd Metals announced Tuesday (Mar. 2) it will build a $6 million manufacturing and distribution plant at a 10-acre site near the Port of Little Rock. The dirt work (see picture at right; photo from Boyd Metals) has begun on the project.
The new operation is expected to employ 46 when operational. The company, formed in 1991 by Chester Koprovic, Tom Kennon and Ron Tabor, has operations in Fort Smith, Little Rock, Joplin, Mo., and Oklahoma City.
Boyd employs more than 125 companywide and makes and distributes carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum and fiberglas products.
