Central Arkansas-based real estate agency The Janet Jones Company is celebrating its 46th year in business and has announced the promotion of Susan Reynolds as president and principal broker.

Reynolds, only the second president in the firm’s 46-year history, marks a new chapter as the agency becomes second-generation owned, positioning it for continued success and longevity. Her mother, Janet Jones, will continue to serve as CEO.

Jones founded the real estate agency in 1980 and has since grown the company to employ around 40 people, becoming one of the top-earning agencies in the state, with last year’s sales totaling nearly $300 million.

“I built this company with vision and heart. Now I have the privilege of watching my daughter lead it forward,” Jones said. “The greatest milestone in leadership is not stepping away but passing the work you love to someone you trust completely. I will remain the steward of what we built, while proudly watching the next generation carry it even further.”

Reynolds has been with the company for more than 25 years, working as one of the top agents and previously holding the title of vice president. She has also served on several community boards, including the Little Rock Regional Chamber Board, the Junior League of Little Rock Executive Board, the Women & Children First Board and the Arkansas Children’s Auxiliary Board.

The company also promoted Bob Bushmiaer to vice president. Bushmiaer continues to act as executive broker and sales associate with his new role. He has 20 years of experience in the real estate business.

Brock Whisenhunt Sr., executive broker, continues as sales manager and is joined in his role by Catherine Langley, who is now assistant sales manager and associate broker. The entire management team – including brokers Owen Gazette and Scott Johnson and Laura Beasley, office manager – provides an added layer to help support all sales associates, according to the company.

“It’s been the greatest privilege of my life to work alongside my mother for my entire adult life in such a special business and with the most amazing co-workers,” Reynolds said. “I am deeply grateful for the foundation my mother created, and I am honored to carry that legacy forward, preserving the values she instilled while guiding our family business into its next chapter.”
