James Jones

James Jones, age 78, of Van Buren, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, known for his warmth, generosity, and love for life. James served in the Army during the Vietnam War and later became a successful small business owner in Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sarah Jones; two children, Michael and Jennifer; and five grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at Ocker-Putman Funeral Homes in Van Buren on January 16, 2026, from 4 to 6 PM. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on January 17, 2026, at the same location, followed by a burial at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
