Harriett was very artistic and creative, which came in very handy in her love of quilting. She was a talented gardener; she loved sharing her knowledge of plants and flowers with other people. Harriett always had a smile on her face and a hug for everyone she met. She was an amazing cook and had a talent for tasting a new dish then going home and recreating it without a recipe. Her creative legacy will live on in her family and friends.

Harriett grew up in the Greenwood First Baptist Church and most recently was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. She was very active in the women’s ministries throughout her adult life. She often wrote the women’s Bible studies that she then led. She was a Sunday School teacher and led many children and adults to Christ. She started a quilting fellowship at Westwood Baptist Church. One of her biggest goals was supporting Dewey in his ministry as a pastor, missionary and denominational leader.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Dewey Hickey; four daughters, Sandy Burch and husband, Randy, Cindy Steele and husband, Carl, Sheri Jennings and Wendie Hickey; three grandchildren, Cassie Twilley, Andy Steele and Tim Steele; six great grandchildren, Elaina and Colton Burkard, Liliya, Zeke, Teddy and Jack Steele and one nephew, Gary Wagner.
