Badu Holdings, Inc. purchased a 5.3-acre commercial lot at Little Rock’s Gateway Town Center in December in a sale totaling $1.95 million.

Isaac Smith, Justin Bentley and Lee Strother, all of Colliers | Arkansas, represented the seller, Gateway Otter, LLC, in the transaction. The buyer was represented by John Hathaway and Wes Martin of Hathaway Group.

Family Leisure, a retailer based in North Little Rock that specializes in pools, hot tubs, game room products and patio furniture, is planning to build a 40,000-square-foot facility at the site which will include more than 30,000 square feet of showroom space and about 10,000 square feet of warehouse space. The new facility will also feature 20,000 square feet of outdoor display space.

Tentative plans are to break ground during first quarter of 2025, forecasting a spring 2026 opening.

The current Family Leisure facility at 308 Lake Lane in North Little Rock will remain in operation.

“Gateway Town Center has experienced solid success in attracting both local and nationally-recognized tenants and will be a perfect fit for Family Leisure,” said Bentley. “Easy access from both I-30 and I-430 and convenience to both Little Rock and the Saline County area have helped it attract some really big-name tenants. Our team is happy to have facilitated bringing such quality retailers and entertainment facilities to central Arkansas.”

“We are very excited about this new location and the opportunity to provide our customers with an even better shopping experience,” said Family Leisure CEO Richard Uekman. “With the larger showroom and great location, we will be able to expand our wide range of current products and add new ones in the future.”

Gateway Town Center was established in 2015 as an entertainment destination and features a slew of retailers, restaurants and entertainment facilities such as Bass Pro Shops, The Outlets of Little Rock, Movie Tavern, Rock City Harley Davidson, Dave & Busters and more.

It is located at the 1-30/430 exchange.
