CoorsTek to invest another $9 million in Benton facility, add 50 jobs
Ceramics manufacturer CoorsTek announced Monday (April 26) an additional expansion of its manufacturing footprint in Benton.
The company plans to add an additional $9 million in capital investment and 50 jobs to its facility. In 2020, CoorsTek completed a $26 million building expansion.
The facility produces ceramic body armor used by U.S. military personnel and U.S. allies. It also manufactures other ceramic components that are used to make mechanical seals used in automobiles and in operations that transport fluids, such as petroleum products.
“The expansion of our Benton facility is a key step in our long-term strategy for CoorsTek supporting the evolution and innovation in the defense and aerospace markets,” said Jonathan Coors, Co-CEO. “Benton has long been an important manufacturing hub for us, and the support and partnership we have experienced from both local and state governments has been a driving factor in our desire for continued investment in Arkansas.”
The Benton facility has served U.S. and international customers in the aerospace and defense industries since 1979.
“It’s been two years since CoorsTek broke ground for a $26 million expansion in Benton, which the company completed last year,” said Gov. Asa Hutchinson. “Here they are again, creating more jobs and further polishing Arkansas’ reputation in the defense and aerospace markets. If I hear of a CEO who wonders whether Arkansas is a good place to do business, I’ll recommend a visit to CoorsTek.”
