Forum to address Latinx empowerment in NWA
The Latino Business Speakers Bureau has chosen Northwest Arkansas to host the first LatinXNA Empowerment Forum. It’s scheduled at Grit Studios in downtown Bentonville on Oct. 31.
The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Manny Fernandez, managing director of the Dallas office of professional services and accounting firm KPMG, will deliver a keynote address to start the agenda.
Adam Arroyos, Betty Uribe and Raymond Arroyo will then lead a panel discussion on Latinx empowerment best practices. They are the founders of the Latino Business Speakers Bureau, a firm formed in September 2018 focusing on men and women business speakers who happen to be Hispanic and are experienced at the highest levels of corporate America.
Latinx is a gender-neutral term used to describe a person of Latin American origin or descent.
Arroyos is also the founder and CEO of Grandslam Performance Associates (GPA) in Fayetteville. GPA is a professional development firm that provides thought leadership, training and technology for companies.
Arroyos previously held senior leadership positions at Walmart Inc., J.C. Penney Co., NorthWest Arkansas Community College and the ALPFA Institute. In 2012, the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal recognized Arroyos as a member of its annual Forty Under 40 class.
The forum will also recognize Northwest Arkansas employers in a variety of categories that are empowering Latinx talent within their organizations. A networking lunch will conclude the event.
