St. Edward Mercy named Consumer Choice award winner
St. Edward Mercy has been named one of the top hospitals in the nation by the National Research Corporation (NRC), a consumer health care study organization.
The 2010 award marks the seventh consecutive year St. Edward has been selected. St. Edward and Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock were the only two Arkansas hospitals to earn this award.
The award is based on the NRC Ticker data, the largest consumer survey on Healthcare in the United States. Consumers in the Fort Smith market have ranked St. Edward Mercy Medical Center at the top of the list based on four essential consumer metrics — best overall quality, best image/reputation, best doctors, best nurses.
“This award is really a tribute to our doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers and their commitment to providing compassionate care and exceptional service to those we serve,” Jeff Johnston, president/CEO of St. Edward, said in a statement. “We are honored to receive this award because it comes from our patients and we will continue to look for new ways to make their experiences the best possible.”
