First National Bank of NWA hires Tanya Mims as Fayetteville market president
First National Bank of NWA (FNBNWA) has hired Arvest Bank Vice President Tanya Mims as president of its Fayetteville market. The position was created specifically for Mims with the addition of the bank’s new building in the city.
This past summer, FNBNWA secured land to build a new branch on Steele Boulevard south of JJ’s Beer Garden & Brewing Co.. It will replace the existing Fayetteville branch at 2638 Joyce Blvd., a leased office space that opened in December 2014. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2019.
Mims has nearly 25 years of banking experience in Northwest Arkansas and has worked for Arvest Bank since 1997. She has held leadership roles in the Leadership Fayetteville program, Junior League of NWA, Peace at Home Family Shelter and Christian Life Cathedral of Fayetteville.
“Tanya has been such an impactful leader and member of the Fayetteville community,” FNBNWA President Rob Husong said in a statement. “I feel she is perfect for leading our Fayetteville team given her passion for Fayetteville and her tremendous heart for servant leadership. She embodies the core values of FNBNWA which is our commitment to investing in the communities we serve making them a better place.”
First National Bank of NWA is a division of First National Bank of Fort Smith, which was chartered in 1872 and has 13 branches in the Fort Smith metro. The company has six branches in Benton and Washington counties: Rogers (2), Bentonville, Centerton, Lowell and Fayetteville.
As of Sept. 30, First National Bank of Fort Smith held $1.3 billion in assets. The company entered the Northwest Arkansas market in 2004 with the acquisition of Bank of Rogers and its holding company, BOR Bancshares Inc., for $26.5 million.
