XNA announces nonstop flights to Newark Liberty International Airport
Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) in Benton County said Thursday (July 16) that United Airlines will begin daily nonstop service between XNA and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) on Sept. 24. The flights will be posted on the United Airlines website Thursday evening.
According to a news release, the new route to Newark, N.J., will provide Northwest Arkansas travelers with another nonstop option for reaching the New York City metro area while opening connections through one of United Airlines’ largest and most globally connected hubs. Newark will become XNA’s 28th nonstop destination. XNA has existing service to the New York City metro through LaGuardia Airport in Queens, N.Y.
“Newark changes the scale of what travelers can reach from Northwest Arkansas,” said Andrew Branch, chief operating officer of XNA. “It gives our community another nonstop option for New York City, but the larger opportunity is what comes beyond Newark. With one connection, Northwest Arkansas travelers will have access to destinations throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India and other parts of the world. For a region with global businesses, global supply chains and global ambitions, this is an incredibly valuable addition.”
The release shows United’s Newark hub offers nonstop service to more than 40 destinations across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India. This includes new service between Newark/New York and Seoul, South Korea, beginning Sept. 4. This October, United will also be the only airline in the New York area to offer service to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
“This service is about more than adding another city to our map,” Branch said. “It is about connecting Northwest Arkansas more directly with the people, markets and opportunities that drive our region forward. Newark gives our passengers a strong local destination and a powerful global gateway in a single route.”
XNA recently set a new monthly enplanement record in June with 129,045 enplanements, up 3.1% from the previous monthly record of 125,189 in June 2025. Enplanements comprise passengers flying out.
