Henry Bruce Chronister Jr.
Henry Bruce Chronister Jr., Age 84, of Alma, Arkansas, Passed away on July 10, 2026. Henry was born on September 13, 1941, in Hagarville, Arkansas, to Henry Bruce Chronister Sr. and Ruth (Lankford) Chronister.
On July 16, 1961, Henry married the love of his life, JoEllen (Reeves) Chronister. Together they built a life filled with love, hard work, and devotion, sharing 62 wonderful years of marriage.
Henry was known for his strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and determination. Throughout his life, he founded, owned, and operated numerous successful businesses that served his community. He was the owner of Jr.’s Auto Sales and Classic Auto Sales and co-owner of 64 Auto Sales, CNL Auto Imports, Jr. and Charlie’s Auto Sales, Inc., Highway 59 Auto Sales, Highway 64 Furniture, Highway 64 Satellite, J and L Satellite, Railroad Damaged Building Material, and Paradise Pool and Spa. His commitment to his community also extended beyond business, as he was one of the founding members of the District 6 Rural Fire Department.
Outside of work, Henry found great enjoyment in restoring and collecting classic cars, a hobby that reflected both his mechanical talent and appreciation for automotive history. He also loved spending time fishing, where he could relax and enjoy the outdoors. Above all else, Henry treasured his family. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with those he loved, and the legacy of his love, dedication, and unwavering support will remain with them always.
Henry is survived by his beloved daughter, Belinda Shelly; three grandchildren, Charity Tebbaa, Christopher Shelly, Amber Sunday; six great-grandchildren, Amelia Kate, Henry Levi, Zephaniah Elise Jean, Lily Jo, Savannah Jo, and Zakariah Amir; one niece, Pamela Jean Herrera; and two nephews, Denis Dean Price and Gary Lee Price.
He is preceded in passing by his parents Bruce Chronister Sr. and Ruth (Lankford) Chronister; his loving wife, JoEllen (Reeves) Chronister; one son, Donnie Lee Chronister; one brother, Mack Edward Chronister; two sisters, Macie Eugenia Price and Betty Jean Chronister; as well as a niece, Jonnie Maxine Smith.
There will be visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Joe Walden to officiate. Interment will follow at Minnow Creek Cemetery. Christopher Shelly, Bryan Sunday, Gary Price, Jimmy Sullivent, Tommy Sullivent, and Lewis Dixon will serve as pallbearers and Denis Dean Price will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
