David Lee Bankston, 65, of Van Buren, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026 in Fort Smith, AR. He was born October 7, 1960 in Fowler, CA. He had worked for Brookdale Senior Living in Fort Smith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Melva (Williams) Harrison; a sister, Cynthia Jennings; and a brother, Richard “Ricky” Haggard.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Bankston of the home; a daughter, Jenny Bankston of Austin, Texas; a son, Jonathon Bankston of Muldrow; his father, Dee Bankston of California; two sisters, Dawn Howell of Fort Smith, and Cheryl Bankston Pittman of CA; and a grandchild, Connor Bankston.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
