Dennis Wayne Roberson Sr.
Dennis Wayne Roberson Sr. passed away after a long illness on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the age of 81, in Greenwood, Arkansas. He was born on October 26, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Ted Roberson, Sr., and Helen Birch Roberson.
Dennis attended Fort Smith High School (Class of 1942), Westark Community College, and Trenton Jewelry School.
In 1963, Dennis began working for his Dad at Roberson’s Sheet Metal Co. of Fort Smith and Booneville, AR. In 1971, he started at Rheem Mfg. in their Model Shop, retiring 30 years later as a Research and Development Supervisor. While there, he gained several patents in his name for Rheem; he was also President of the Rheem Management Club for several years. In 1980, Dennis began making jewelry, a hobby that turned into Roberson’s Jewelry Store, located at Maybranch Square in Fort Smith, until 2004.
Dennis was a man of many talents and interests. These included Travelling, Camping, Fishing, Hunting, Boating, Motorcycling, and Family activities. His favorite trips were going to Daytona, FL, and Sturgis, SD.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Ted Roberson, Jr. of Van Buren, AR, and Terry Roberson of Springdale, AR.
He is survived by his two sons, Dennis Roberson, Jr. and wife, Sabra, and Scott M. Roberson, all of Fort Smith, AR; three grandchildren, Austin, Dallas and wife Bobbie Jayne, and Kyle, and three great-grandchildren, Anna, Jace, and Ransom. Dennis is also survived by his three surviving sisters: Dianne Blaine of Russelville, AR; Helen Terrill of Alma, AR; and Rochelle Kelley and husband Ron of Barling, AR; a host of nieces and nephews, including special niece, DeRonda Wallace, who cared for him in his last days; many friends, including his best buddy, John Cherry of Fort Smith, AR; and his former wife of many years, Judy Peevy Roberson Priest of Fort Smith, AR.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, cremation is under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
