Peggy Levings

Margaret “Peggy” Lynn Levings, age 72, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, passed away May 26, 2026. She was born on March 1, 1954, to Joe and Norma (Hoover) Burns in Fort Smith.

Peggy married James Levings on June 9, 1972, and in just a few short weeks, they would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. High school sweethearts, Peggy devoted her life to caring for her soulmate, James, until her passing. Together, they built a home in Pocola, where they raised their two daughters, Stephanie and Amy, before later moving to Muldrow.

Peggy had a deep love for gardening and spent countless hours tending to her vegetables and plants. She also had a talent for remodeling and enjoyed taking part in many home improvement projects over the years. A devoted Christian, Peggy knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was a kind and generous woman who would gladly give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Peggy was also well known for her love of shoe shopping.

Peggy is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, James Levings; daughters, Stephanie Lynn Posey and husband Danny, and Amy Renee Graves; son, Benjamin Pinkerton; grandchildren, Rachel, Tyler, Taylor, Parker, Faith, and Grace; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Lane and husband John, and Jennifer McCoy and husband Walter; brother, John Burns; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

The family will hold a private graveside service at Liberty Cemetery.
