Donald “Don” P. Clover of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born on May 1, 1959, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the late Robert L. Clover and Elva Marie (Huthmaker) Clover. He was 67 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Greg Clover. Don was a biologist and worked for the City of Fort Smith. He received an undergraduate degree from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and obtained a master’s degree from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville. Don was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and hiking and shared his passion with his children and grandchildren. Don was an experienced carpenter, always working to help others with projects. He loved history, reading, and traveling to historical landmarks. He enjoyed restoring his vintage 1946 Willys CJ-2A Jeep and loved grilling and cooking meals for his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa and will be missed by all who knew him. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 15th at Brotherton Funeral Chapel in Charleston. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, LeeAnn (Pendleton) Clover; two daughters, Megan Slayton and husband Taylor of Van Buren and Molly Harvey and husband Hayden of Barling; a son, Miles Clover and wife Jaqulyn of Fort Smith; and four grandchildren, Clover Jayne Slayton, Henry Harvey, Tripp Harvey, and Marshall Clover. The family will visit with friends following the memorial service. The family also invites you to share your favorite memories and photos of Don on the online guestbook.
