Chris Allen Brackney

Chris Allen Brackney, 63, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026 in Greenwood. He was born April 12, 1963 in Ness City, Kansas to Duane and Jolene (Meis) Brackney.

Chris attended Ness City Elementary and McCracken High School, graduating in 1981. After serving in the Air Force, he became an over the road truck driver. Due to health reasons, Chris retired at an early age.

Survivors include his mother; siblings, Colleen “Bunny” Ramming (Steve), William “Bud” (Donna), Jerome “Jerry” (Wanda), Kimberly “Kim” (Dean), Mark (Melissa), Stacy “Tater” (Jessica); brother-in-law, Danny Ivy and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by his father and sisters, JoLinda (Cookie) and Kristi (Sissy).

Chris’s wishes were to be cremated. A service will be held at a later date at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in McCracken, Kansas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
