Brad “Redd” Carter, age 48, passed away on April 17, 2026, leaving behind many cherished memories of him.
Brad was born on June 24, 1977, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Steve and Pam (Cagle) Carter.
Brad loved growing up at the Fort Smith Boys & Girls Club. He attended Fort Smith Public Schools where at Kimmons Jr. High and Northside High School he played varsity football and excelled in track, following in his dad’s fast footsteps. He also excelled in American Legion baseball and went on to play at Westark Community College, now UAFS.
Brad had a long career in the Medical Transport field and cared deeply for all of the patients he met and transported throughout his career.
Brad’s trips to New York City with his Mom were the highlight of his life.
Brad is predeceased by his Dad, Steve. He is survived by his mother and best friend, Pam Carter; his brother, Chris Carter and wife Tama; nieces Kalyn Carter and her partner, Cody Shore, and Mattie Winfield and husband, Josh; great-nephews Greyson Brodersen and Carter Winfield; and great-nieces Riley Reese Shore and Elizabeth Belle Winfield, all of whom he cherished.
He is also survived by his extended family whom he loved deeply.
Redd leaves behind his crew of the best friends anyone could ever have and they know who they are.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026.
There will be a time after the service for friends and family to gather and celebrate him.
