Prosecutor Sonia Hagood to seek second term in 2nd Judicial District

Sonia F. Hagood, 2nd Judicial District prosecuting attorney, will seek a second term in office.
First elected in 2022, her district includes Craighead, Greene, Clay, Crittenden, Mississippi and Poinsett counties.
“Serving as prosecuting attorney for the 2nd Judicial District has been the honor of my life,” Hagood said. “Over the past term, we’ve made significant progress in protecting our communities and supporting vulnerable victims. There is more work to be done, and I’m committed to continuing that work with integrity, compassion, and accountability.”
Hagood previously worked as a private attorney in Paragould and as a deputy public defender in Craighead County.
A University of Arkansas Law School graduate, she has served on the Federal Practice Committee and is a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
