William Summers Egerland

William Summers Egerland, 78, of Midland, Arkansas passed away Friday, June 27, 2025 in Fort Smith. He was born December 25, 1946 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He was a retired U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart and member of Midland First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nora Ann Egerland; one son, Bobby Russell; two daughters, Kim Rauser and husband, Steve and Gerri O’Brien; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Dorthy Egerland, one sister, Rita Coffman and a grandson, Brandon Hatsell.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 1 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Monday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Russell, Brian Rauser, Steven Rauser, Matt Rodonski, Blake Bullington, Russell Miller and Dakota Jones.
