Sharon Kay Reed, a lifelong resident of Paris, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in Paris. She was born on November 27, 1943, in Paris to the late James Everette Whitson and Esther Mae (Redding) Whitson. She was 81 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Sandra Cotton.
Sharon was a 1961 graduate of Paris High School. She was a homemaker and was a beautician at Specs in Paris. For many years, Sharon taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir, read her Bible daily, and was a faithful member of First Assembly of God in Paris. Her pride and joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved entertaining the family with good cooking and just being together. She loved gardening, working in her yard, and going on trips to Branson, Missouri with her husband of 63 years, Donnie Reed. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 21st at Baxley Cemetery in Paris, with Pastor Tammy Frederick officiating. All services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donnie Marvin Reed; her children, Tammy Tanner and husband Jeff of Pottsville, Donnie Reed and wife Amy of Bigelow, Kristi Davison and husband Daren of Bella Vista, and Rhonda Wilcox and husband Bill of Charleston; her brother, Jim Whitson and wife Patti of Bella Vista; (6) grandchildren, Nathan Cathcart and wife Emily, Austen Cathcart and wife Sydney, Hope Carter and husband Caleb, Faith Young and husband William, Dara Bollenbacher and husband Bryan, and Bradon Street; and (9) great-grandchildren, Collins, Corbin, Cain, and Cash Cathcart, Reed and Rosie Kate Carter, Bennett Young, and Luke and Zachary Bollenbacher.
Pallbearers are Nathan Cathcart, Austen Cathcart, Bradon Street, Bryan Bollenbacher, Caleb Carter, and William Young.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris.
