Sharon “Joan” Hanger (Frost)

Sharon “Joan” Hanger, 80, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 in her home. She was born on June 16, 1945 in Paris, Arkansas to Doyle M. and Hilda Faye (Pettigrew) Frost. She was a member of Butterfield Assembly of God Church. Joan was a former banker at the Altra Federal Credit Union and was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, Bendon and Ken Mullinax as well as brothers and sisters.

Funeral services are 11:00AM, Monday, June 23, 2025 at Butterfield Assembly of God Church in Van Buren, Arkansas. Cremation will follow the service and burial will be at a later date, under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, AR.

The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service.

She is survived by her husband Edwin Hanger of the home; two sons, Ken Mullinax and his wife Amy of Fort Smith, AR and Jimmy Frost of Dunkirk, MD; a step son, Kevin Hanger and his wife Bonnie of Waldorf, MD; two step daughters, Kelly Davis and her husband Kenneth of Livingston, TX and Kerry Crawford and her husband Barry of Jacksonville, FL and Karol Kocerek and her husband Charles of Orange Grove, TX; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
