Roger David Wooden, 67, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025.
He was born on April 3, 1958, in Fort Smith to the late Reverend Jeff D. and Pauline (Moore) Wooden. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Roger later worked as a millwright for Whirlpool in Fort Smith until his retirement. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a man who loved deeply—especially his family and his beloved dog, Pearl.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Austin and Madison Gregory.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rhonda (Dyer) Wooden of Fort Smith; daughter, Meagan Evans of Fort Smith; son, Cody Wooden of Fort Smith; grandchildren, Dakota Gregory, Mya Wooden, Noah Hughes, Zander Wooden, and Caleb Wooden; sisters, Paula Shook and Nancy England; brother, J.W. Wooden; sister-in-law, Sherry Galyen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Friday 9:00 A.M. at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas with military honors. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Dyer, James Dyer, Ethan Dyer, Mihael Walker, Jesse Keeth, Jake Wooden. Arrangements are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
