Cheryl Elaine Holt of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Friday, May 30, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. She was born on August 18, 1957, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Alva Ross Brown, Jr. and Berta Ruth (Gipson) Brown. She was 67 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband, Anthony (Tony) Shaw.

For 13 years, Elaine owned and operated Virginia’s Cafe’ in Fort Smith, was a supervisor at Choctaw Casino & Resort in Pocola, Oklahoma, and member of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Fort Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Dwight Holt; two step-daughters, Brandie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Braelyn Holt of Mulberry; two step-sons, Jeremy Holt and wife Allie of Michigan and Dawson Holt of Mulberry; her sister, Cindi Watkins and partner, Brian Farmer of Fort Smith; two brothers, Mike Brown and wife Jan and Kenneth Brown, all of Fort Smith; five step- grandchildren, Oakley, Lakynn, Brooks, Maverick, and Brynlynn; two nieces, Hilliary Brown and husband Joe Ledbetter of Hot Springs and McKenzie Brown of Fort Smith; one nephew, Harrison Brown of Pennsylvania; and one great-niece, Caroline Grace.
