Jessie David Friddle, Jr., who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on November 14, 1947, in Dermott, Arkansas, to the late Jessie David Friddle, Sr. and Emma (Hayden) Friddle. He was 77 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dub Friddle.
David was a retired auctioneer and was an U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran. He loved the outdoors, shooting guns, and listening to Bluegrass music. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Pastor Buddy Corbell officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, located on Fort Chaffee near Barling, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his companion of 31 years, Carla Basham; two sons, Carol David Friddle of Lavaca and Matt Friddle and wife Amy of Bentonville; his extended children, Amber Billings and husband Shawn of Greenwood and Ryan Basham of Overland Park, Kansas; a sister, Shirley Hice-Wood and husband Ellis of Altus; a brother, Richard Friddle of Booneville; (3) grandchildren, Carlos Friddle, Carrington Friddle and Faith Friddle; and three extended grandchildren, Colton Simpson and wife Abbie, Bailey Basham and Adriana Rusin.
Pallbearers are Matt Friddle, Colton Simpson, Ryan Basham, Larry Hice, Carlos Friddle, and Anthony Geheb.
Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Geheb, Larry Fletcher, Carol David Friddle, Kennith “Kat” Dooly, T.J. Israel, and Gary Stem.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
