Charles Alan Jackson, age 57, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born on June 6, 1967, he was the cherished son of Heyward Eugene Jackson of Fort Smith and Janet Suzanne (Boehm) Harrison of Buffalo, New York.

A proud graduate of South Side High School, Charles continued his education at The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, formerly Westark Community College. He went on to build a long and dedicated career as a Shipping Supervisor at Flowers Foods, where his hard work and commitment played a vital role in shipping baked goods enjoyed throughout the region. His reliability and contributions earned him the respect of his peers and numerous accolades over the years.

Charles was a self-taught mechanic with a natural gift for fixing anything, especially with wheels. He had a lifelong passion for cars—whether he was turning wrenches under the hood, catching a NASCAR race, or simply enjoying the thrill of the open road. He also loved bowling, visiting the casino, and sharing pizza and wings with the people he loved. He will be remembered as a loving son and fiancé, devoted father, proud grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend—the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.

Known for his magnetic personality and quick wit, Charles never met a stranger. A father to many that made you feel so loved and seen. He was slow to anger and quick to listen with compassion. He could charm the skin off a snake and fix any and everything with a YouTube video. The kind of man that you want to have on your side no matter what life threw at you. He could make you smile in the darkest hour and make you cry from laughing. Always had a slice of bread, a donut, and a Debbie cake close by. He will be deeply missed by so many, from the gas station cashier to the parents that should have not had to watch their son go before them. We honor you and thank you for being such a wonderful human when we all needed it the most.

Charles is survived by his father, Heyward Jackson, and wife Susie; his mother, Janet Harrison; his beloved fiancée, Tara Mills; his children: Justin Carnes and his wife Lauren, Nicole Jackson and her significant other Anthony Massey, Cara Pathkiller, Dosha (Pathkiller) Ledbetter, and Charles Pathkiller; and Tara’s children: Angela, Landon, and Kyle. He also leaves behind grandchildren: Everett, Jaden, Zalie, Azalea, Larkyn, and Gabe; and Tara’s grandchildren: Marlei, Amelia, Isabella, and Saige.

He is also survived by his siblings: Scott Jackson and wife Sharon, Jaineane Harrison, and Daphne Ballard and husband T.K.; their children: Samantha, Weston, Abby, Connor, Lindsey, Lizzy, Kayden, Ella, Kolton, Michael, Karlee; his Uncle Talmadge, Aunt Dottie, and Uncle Butch, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many extended family members including; the Prophets, the Noahs and the Adams families.

Charles will be deeply missed by many close friends, including Cindy Jeffries, Liz Freeman, Scott Rodon, Michael McKay, Pat Petty and Nate.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alan and Anabel Boehm, and his paternal grandparents, Gene Jackson and Mary Jackson (later Griffin), as well as Mary’s second husband, George Griffin; and a great friend warmly known as Big Bird.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Center Stage on May 25th, 2025 at 4:00 PM, located in Choctaw Casino-Pocola. The family extends their heartfelt thank you to Lewis Funeral Chapel for their guidance and support during this time.
